National Organizations and Conferences

Here are web pages of the national organizations that many of these schools are associated with, and information about the conferences that they hold.



Association of Bulgarian Schools in America (ABSA)




Association of Chinese Schools (ACS) holds its annual conference each May  during Memorial Day weekend; locations vary.

Chinese School Association in the United States (CSAUS)

 National Council of Associations of Chinese Language Schools   (NCACLS) holds its annual conference each August; locations vary. More information is on their website.




Czech Schools in North America holds its annual conference each June; locations vary.




German American School Association of Northern California (GASANC) is an umbrella organization that represents seven independently operated German Language Saturday schools in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. The annual GASANC Workshop for all teachers of German takes place at the end of August each year.



German Language School Conference holds its Annual Professional Development and Networking Conference each November in New York City.





American Hungarian Schools Organization (AMIT)




California Association of Japanese Language Schools (CAJLS) holds its annual workshop each February in Los Angeles, CA. Information about past workshops here.

  Japanese as a Heritage Language Special Interest Group (JHL SIG) at the American Association of Teachers of Japanese (AATJ)
  Japanese Program at California State University Long Beach holds a summer institute and workshops for JHL school teachers.
